Writing like a pro

Customize the editor
Different people, different needs, that's a fact. Note-C let's you choose your favorite font, font-size and -color, background-color and even let's you choose the background-color for selected text. But Note-C won't stop here there are even more options available to customize the look and feel of the editor.

Enhanced Fullscreen-Experience
The fullscreen-modus got some special treatment. Instead of simply enlarging the text-field to width and height of the screen, you can adjust its size individually to your own taste. Also, you can change the background-color or choose a background-image to fill the empty space.

Integrated Tab-Actions
By using tab-actions you can insert predefined text-modules, by writing a keyword and hitting the tab-key. With the help of the integrated Tab-Actions-Manager you can define your own text-modules and appropriate keywords. After doing so, you just have to enter the keyword into your text and hit the tab-key and the text-module belonging to the keyword will be inserted automatically.

Note-C also offers support for various Markup-languages. Next to the widely popular Markdown Note-C also supports Textile, Wikitext, BBCode, HTML and MultiMarkdown in form of shortcuts for headlines, bold-text, inverse text and an integrated preview of your entries in their formatted state which can be individualized with custom CSS-files.

You can add attachments to all your entries, which will be added to the same folders where your entries are located, so it's easy to find them. Additionally Note-C allows you to look at these files from within the application. Further there are actions available to display the file within Finder or open the selected file with the standard-application for the filetype of the selected file.

To archive your entries, Note-C offers an extensive export-manager. Exporting your entries to the formats RTF(text only), RTFD, Word(text only), ODT(text only), HTML and PDF is just a few clicks away, but you can also export your entries to an ePub-Ebook, which can be read from a lot of ebook-readers and -applications. And if you're using markup in your entries, you can set Note-C to automatically convert your entries before exporting them into your desired format.

As many notebooks as you like

You can create as many notebooks as you like, so you can divert your entries by topics and specific projects. Additionally all entries are being saved in a structured manner, so it is easy to find soecific entries even outside Note-C. Further, all entries are being written into simple txt-files, which can be read and edited by many text-editors. Alternatively, you can choose to save your entries to Textbundle-Files (Learn more about Textbundle).

Strands, the flexible way to write down something fast

To each of your notebooks you can add a collection of strands, to remember yourself of new entries, important infos, annotations or outline-ideas without starting a new entry. Doing so there are several flexible options available. Next to adding a new strand directly within Note-C, you can also add a strand via the menu-bar without leaving your current application you're working in. As a third, special option, you can add strands from within a browser using a bookmarklet. For this you just have to select the specific text within your browser and click the bookmarklet and the selected text will be forwarded to Note-C.
