Preferences

The Preferences are divided into four areas:

General

Specify table design

This option can be used to set the table design between spreadsheet and classic table. This change is immediately visible if a file is open in table view. Spreadsheet and classic table differ in certain aspects, both visually and in terms of editing.

General information on handling tables can be found under [View_Table.htm:Table View].
Details on handling the spreadsheet design can be found under
Spreadsheet.

Show warning before opening a link

If this option is active, before a URL is forwarded to the respective standard browser, a warning will be displayed which, in addition to the corresponding URL, also offers various options on how to continue.

Spreadsheet

To edit the font settings for the spreadsheet design, the corresponding option must be activated in the "General" area.
Changes to these settings only become visible after reopening a document.

Classic Table

In order to edit the font settings for the classic table design, the option for the Spreadsheet design must be deactivated in the "General" area.

All changes made are immediately visible when a document is open.

Row Height Adjustment

Depending on the selected font and font size, it may be necessary to adjust the line height in order to get the best possible display result.

Line Numbering Colors

These settings affect the leftmost column, and their color design can be individually adapted to your own needs.

Markup

MultiMarkdown / MarkdownExtra Style

Under this option, there are two different ways to specify how the area between the header and body of the table should be formatted.

Internal Markup Converter

By activating this option, you can specify that the internal markup converter should be used instead of scripts (usually original converters for the respective languages) for converting tables in the web view.

Notice: The internal markup converter is optional on macOS Big Sur (11.00) or earlier. The "old" markup converters are no longer supported in newer macOS versions, since the function libraries required for the "old" markup converters will no longer be included. Therefore, this option is not visible in these versions of macOS.
