Note-C 2.5.4 released

Note-C 2.5.4 is now available on the Mac App Store.

This update for Note-C offers various improvements and bug fixes in different areas.

In addition, the editor got two new features that can be helpful in your writing tasks.

First, multiple selections can now be provided with markup in the editor, which can certainly make work easier if markup is to be set in different areas of a text.

And second, the auto-conversion of texts copied from websites and pasted to the editor is new, which adds the corresponding markup to the pasted text. This feature must be activated in the Note-C preferences under Editor, otherwise the text will be pasted as plain text just like before.

Changes in detail:

New:

  • markup formatting can now be applied to several selections in the text at the same time. To select several areas in the text at once, the CMD key must be held down while using the mouse to select the passages to be formatted
  • new preference option for the text editor: if text from web pages is inserted into the text field via drag'n drop or copy/paste, a markup conversion can be performed automatically. This option can be activated in the preferences under Editor

Improvements:

  • improves the correct display of line numbering
  • improved the behavior when creating and closing indented alphanumeric lists
  • various internal improvements, optimizations and updates

Bug fixes:

  • fixes minor bugs with the display of assets in text and adding assets via drag'n drop when images contain spaces in the name
  • fixes a bug that caused the asset not to be added when adding assets to an entry under certain circumstances

MarkMyWords 1.10.1 released

MarkMyWords 2.10.1 is now available on the Mac App Store!

This update for MarkMyWords offers several bug fixes and improvements in various areas of the app. In addition, a few smaller new features have been added.

The new output format Add to clipboard has been added for the Extensions area.

In the editor, multiple selections can now be provided with markup, which can certainly make work easier if markup has to be added in different areas of a text.

Another new feature for the editor is the auto-conversion of text copied from web pages in the clipboard, which adds the corresponding markup to the pasted text. This function must be activated in the MarkMyWords preferences under Editor, otherwise the text will be pasted as plain text just like before.

The last point I would like to mention is the import of PDF documents. Even though this function works well for the most part, it should be used with caution. PDF documents are by nature quite unconventional, even copy/paste can result in strange combinations. For this reason, the result should always be checked carefully after an import to ensure that the order of the text is correct.

All further details on this update can be found in the list of changes.

The complete list of changes:

New:

  • the text of simple PDF files can now also be imported via the Import file option. PDFs with a non-linear layout may result in text shifts
  • new output format for extensions: Pasteboard. The result of the extension will be added to the pasteboard

  • improved behavior for file name changes in the File Navigator panel
  • improved the behavior when creating and closing indented alphanumeric lists
  • if no asset is selected in the asset pane and the "Show in Finder" action is activated, the corresponding directory is now displayed if one exists
  • various internal improvements, optimizations and updates

Updated:

  • help for extensions extended

Bug fixes:

  • fixes minor bugs with the display of assets in text and adding assets via drag'n drop when images contain spaces in the name
  • fixes a bug that caused the asset not to be added when adding assets to an entry under certain circumstances
