Markup for everyone
With MarkMyWords texts can be edited with different markup languages. In addition to the well known languages HTML and Markdown, MarkMywords also supports the languages MultiMarkdown, MarkdownExtra, Textile, Wikitext, BBCode and Smark.Specialized Editor

The preview of MarkMyWords offers an immediate view of the current document and so allows examining the formatting.Alternatively, MarkMyWords also offers the option of viewing the current document in a browser.

The file navigator for set Quicksave folders offers a fast and uncomplicated access to those folders and documents that should be quickly accessible.With the integrated search and the option to only display documents with a certain color tag, the desired document can be found quickly.

Distraction-free mode
Those, who feel disturbed by user interfaces when writing, will appreciate the distraction-free mode of MarkMyWords. If this is activated, all elements of the user interface are hidden, so that full concentration can be devoted to the text, unless a nice background image is used!
Textbundle
Textbundle is an open format that allows pure text documents to be bundled with other files in a single file. MarkMyWords supports both opening and saving Textbundle files. In addition, existing documents can be exported as a Textbundle- or a Textpack-file.
Dark Mode for everyone
Since macOS Mojave (10.14), MarkMyWords automatically adapts to the system settings. For earlier versions of macOS, MarkMyWords offers a manual dark mode that can be activated at any time.
Import of CSV-Tables
With the import function, MarkMyWords can insert tables into documents easily. Simply select the corresponding CSV file and MarkMyWords inserts the table, including the needed markup code of the currently selected markup language.

MarkMyWords can import text from text files of the most common text applications directly without annoying intermediate steps and can even filter out existing formatting.
Export
MarkMyWords can export the formatted texts as RTF, Doc, ODT, HTML or PDF with a click on the Export button. This is particularly useful when text is to be shared with others who do not use markup languages.

MarkMyWords is localized in English and German
Several functions are available for each markup language, which facilitate the writing and formatting of texts. For example, the most important formatting commands can be easily inserted via the formatting bar.
MarkMyWords supports the additional formatting with CriticMarkup, which can be used in any of the languages supported by MarkMyWords. In addition to the easy insertion of the corresponding CriticMarkups, a tool is also available to process the CriticMarkups in the text with little effort.
For users of MultiMarkdown, MarkMyWords has a special function that enables use the official MultiMarkdown terminal tool instead of the internal parser to convert the text. This can be achieved with just a few steps in the MarkMyWords preferences.
For keyboard jugglers, MarkMyWords offers a variety of commands to quickly and efficiently write and edit texts. In addition to various commands for markup formatting, MarkMyWords can easily move and duplicate text areas using keyboard shortcuts.
With Textclips, text modules can be inserted quickly and easily and if tab actions are set, only a keyword is enough to insert the desired text.
The intelligent functions of the editor, such as the automatic list continuation and the automatic closing of quotation marks and brackets, offer further assistance when writing. MarkMyWords also helps with the creation of tables in MultiMarkdown and MarkdownExtra.
Instead of the web preview, alternatively the HTML code of the generated document can be previewed.
CSS files are used to define how a document should be displayed. In addition to the CSS files supplied by MarkMyWords, you can also add your own CSS files via the preferences to adapt the appearance to your own wishes.
With a Base-Url, images from a website can be integrated into your document without always having to enter the complete address to the particular images.
Textclips can be inserted quickly into the text with one click using the Textclips area of the sidebar. It is also possible to switch between different groups of text clips here.
See the formal structure of the document at a glance with the heading outline. With just one click on a particular headline, the editor can be moved to the desired position.
Attachments can be added to documents saved in the Textbundle format or saved to Quicksave folders. These can be images that should be embedded in the documents or other files that should be saved with the document.
The info area offers a lot of information about the current document. In addition to pure file information such as the size of the file, the storage location, text coding and dates, extensive text statistics about the current document can be found in this area.
