23 MarkMyWords 1.9.2 released

MarkMyWords 1.9.2 is now available and ready for download at the Mac App Store and on Xelaton.com.

There haven't been any changes since the beta-version, therefore there is nothing new on the list of changes.

You can get the direct version from following links:

Improvements:
  • shortcut for strike-markup for Markdown, MultiMarkdown updated, instead of the <strike>-tag a <del>-tag will be inserted
  • several internal improvements or replacements
  • updated Syntax-Highlighting for MultiMarkdown (To load the updated highlights, please go to Preferences > Select Markups and click on the "Reset all styles"-Button. Please reopen any open documents to reload the syntax-highlighting)
  • Critic-Markup replacement-tag adjusted, MarkMyWords only supports the regular markup {~~ ~> ~~} from now on. Misspellings in the user-interface have been corrected and the preview optimized
  • new markup-transformation-engine implemented
  • (only direct-version) new update-system implemented with different update channels:
    • Normal Version (Sandbox)
    • Normal Version (Without Sandbox)
    • Beta Version (Sandbox)
    • Beta Version (Whithout Sandbox)
  • (only direct-version non-sandboxed) MultiMarkdown: if the MultiMarkdown-Parser (v6+ from the MultiMarkdown download-website installed in /usr/local/bin/mmd) is installed, MarkMyWords will use the installed version instead of the internal MultiMarkdown-Perl-version (MMD2) of MarkMyWords

Bugfixes:
  • corrected webpage-links in the help-menu
  • (only direct-version) MarkMyWords can now look for updates again. The most recent versions of macOS are blocking non-https calls of applications. Xelaton.com is now accessible using ssl (https://www.xelaton.com) and therefore MarkMyWords regained access to xelaton.com to look for updates.

Until next time!

10 Improved MarkMyWords-Plugins for editing MultiMarkdown-tables

Today I present two reworked MarkMyWords-plugins for editing MultiMarkdown-tables. Namely the plugins are CSV2MMDTable and CleanMMDTable, which have been redone from the ground and greatly improved.

Both plugins can be downloaded from the MarkMyWords-plugin-page: MarkMyWords-Plugin-Page

The direct links to the two plugins:

After downloading you need to decompress the Zip-file and install the decompressed plugin using Drag'n Drop onto the dock-icon of MarkMyWords.

CSV2MMDTable

As the name of the plugin implies, this plugin converts CSV-data (plain-text tables using a divider-symbol) into well-formed MultiMarkdown-tables. This plugin also got new configuration-options with this update:
  • setting a divider-symbol
  • define, if a row should start with a |
  • define, if a row should end with a |

A small example how to use this plugin:

You can prepare your table like this:
Code;Full Name;Direction;
DE;Germany;right
EN;Great Britain;left
AT;Austria;right
FR;France;right
SZ;Switzerland;right
JP;Japan;left

Select the appropriate lines and select the CSV2MMDTable-plugin from the plugin-menu-popup in the toolbar of MarkMyWords and you'll get a fully formatted MultiMarkdown-table.

CleanMMDTable

The name of this plugin is self-explanatory too: CleanMMDTable reformats existing MultiMarkdown-tables in order to get the |-sign in order, which results in better readability of MultiMarkdown-tables. This plugin also got new configuration-options:
  • define, if a row should start with a |
  • define, if a row should end with a |

To use the plugin, simpy select an existing MultiMarkdown-table in MarkMyWords and select the CleanMMDTable-plugin from the plugin-menu-popup in the toolbar of MarkMyWords and you'll get a fully cleaned up MultiMarkdown-table.

Hope you have some fun with the plugins!

Until next time!
